The Institute of Cardiology 1st International Symposium

ADVANCES IN MOLECULAR UNDERSTANDING OF CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES

Warsaw, 15 December 2007
Hotel Radisson SAS, ul. Grzybowska 24

It is my great pleasure to invite you to the First International Symposium organized by the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw. The Symposium is entitled "Advances in Molecular Understanding of Cardiovascular Diseases". It will focus on most recent issues which underlie the modern understanding of cardiovascular diseases.

The subject matter presented by a group of eminent researchers and clinicians encompasses the molecular background of some genetically conditioned cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias.

The matters discussed will also include the biology of the vascular wall in coronary artery disease and arterial hypertension, and the phenomenon of thrombosis in a stent.

There will also be a discussion held on the present opinions on the genetic background of arterial hypertension, both primary and secondary, and the molecular background of cardiac insufficiency development.

I wish to express my hope that the Warsaw Institute of Cardiology First International Symposium entitled "Advances in Molecular Understanding of Cardiovascular Diseases" will begin a tradition of systematic deepening the knowledge of and discussion on the most recent issues in the molecular biology.

Prof. Witold Rużyłło, MD, PhD
Director of the Institute of Cardiology in Warsaw
